Rainbow Beach Family Fishing Classic is a fishing competition that is open to all ages and gender, who are new or experienced at fishing, and for those who want to enjoy the experience of watching & participating in all the other activities.

There is $100,000.00  worth of reasons to enter this years Mitsubishi Rainbow Beach Family Fishing Classic and it's not just the big fish that win, in fact you don't even have to catch one to win the 2009 Grand 1st Prize.

The competition is run over an (8) day period, running from a Friday to a Saturday, encompassing a full weekend.  The Club and its extensive grounds are used as the events venue where most of the activities pertaining to the event, with exception to fishing, are held.

Fishing is permitted from south of Eurong on Fraser Island and north of the Noosa River.  This area encompasses miles of beaches, offshore reefs & the Great Sandy Straits, all of which yield great fishing.

The region can cater for the needs of all participants meeting families’ budgetary requirements. Accommodation can suit anybody ranging from; camping, caravan parks, back packers, motels, units, houses & resorts.

Rainbow Beach and it's surrounds offer plenty to do outside of fishing. The township has a great little shopping precinct, activities such as (paragliding, amphibious vehicle tours, boat hire, endless beaches, tours to Fraser Island, horse riding, and scuba diving), endless beaches and 4WD treks.

The event will have a full program of additional things to do during the event. One of which will be a Golf Tournament running over the 8 days at the Rainbow Shores Resort. The Club has a full compliment of facilities including tennis courts for hire, gaming, TAB, Bottle Shop, two bars, cellar, restaurant, ATM, EFT and large screen TV's. Being very family orientated we welcome families and have both wheelchair & baby change room facilities.

All you have to do is fill in the entry form and pay your Entry fees. Details can be all found on the Entry Form page.

The Rainbow Beach Family Fishing Classic will be sure to reel you in with kilometres of beaches, offshore reefs & the Great Sandy Straits to explore over the eight day competition of all things fishing.

The Fishing Classic brings together families, community members and friends in a fun way to celebrate the lush surrounds of the region and the excitement of landing a ‘big one’.

The region offers more than just fishing with activities such as whale watching, sky diving, visiting the famous coloured sands and canoeing as just a few of the recreational activities to do while visiting this beautiful part of Queensland.

My Government through our Toward Q2 initiative has the ambition to support a safe and caring community.

That’s why we support events such as the Rainbow Beach Family Fishing Classic festival through the Queensland Events Regional Development Program.

This program has provided more than $12.5 million to 600 regional events since it started as a world-first initiative in 2001.
These events bring in business, create jobs, attract tourists, fuel growth and prosperity and give a tremendous sense of pride for the local host communities.

Across the State, thousands of individuals, community groups, local councils and in some cases entire towns, put countless hours into ensuring their events are a success.

Enjoy the amazing beaches and the Rainbow Beach Family Fishing Classic, I hope you will have an opportunity to discover more of Queensland’s great events in the coming year.
