A big birthday for the Rainbow Beach Sports, Recreation and Memorial Club today. The original building is 100 years old, transported down from GYMPIE High School in 1981 and has been added onto over the years to the massive Club we have today. A great effort by members of years gone by to get it to this stage now with an Olympic Pool, tennis courts and Gym for use of the Community and visitors. Andrew Strange from Strange cuisine

will be cooking up a storm using fish of the day and local produce.

Andrew’s impressive CV includes the following: Owner/Operator of Ellmos’ Restaurant at Maroochydore (which collected 39 awards including one of the top 3 Fine Dining Restaurants in Queensland), Chef at the Hyatt Coolum (where he joined the Rolling Stones World Tour overseeing their meals while at the various Hyatt’s around the world) and Chef at revered Brisbane’s restaurant Michael’s.

He has cooked for impressionable people such as Presidents Reagan and Carter; Famous singers such as Madonna, Michael Jackson, and Billy Joel just to name a few.
